The Vision of the MiraCosta College Foundation is to ensure that no one is denied access to higher education because of financial need and that resources are available to enrich the college experience for all students.
To promote the interests and the welfare of the college and secure resources that will transform student lives.
The Foundation is independently audited and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, most of whom live and work in the communities served by the MiraCosta Community College District of coastal North San Diego County.
In Fall 2017, the MiraCosta College Foundation received a Platinum rating from Guidestar - the highest level of recognition offered by the organization. Guidestar is the "world's largest source of information on nonprofit organizations."
The MiraCosta College Foundation secured their spot as a Top-Rated Nonprofit of 2017 from GreatNonprofits, which is a web based company that assists nonprofits with marketing materials to gain attention from the community. The Foundation secured their spot by receiving consistent four to five star reviews from scholarship recipients, board members, donors, and community volunteers of the college.
The MiraCosta College Foundation was established as a nonprofit tax-exempt 501(c) 3 in 1967 to receive and administer gifts and grants benefitting the college. For over 40 years, the MiraCosta College Foundation has supported students by funding their pursuits toward a higher education, and providing the resources to help guide them toward success. This is the MiraCosta College Foundation's third year in a row to be recognized as an Organization of Distinction by The Patriots Connection with the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation.
