Joe Maak, CEO of Pride Resource Partners LLC, created an endowed scholarship at MiraCosta College. Students eligible for the scholarship include members of the LGBTQIA community, those who identify as trans*, or those who are active allies to the LGBTQIA or trans* communities. Endowed scholarships are significant in that they last in perpetuity.  

Pride Resource Partners LLC is a Certified Minority-Owned Business Enterprise providing outsourced facilities planning and management, construction planning and management, engineering, and other highly technical consulting services. Founder and CEO Joe Maak is an active member of San Diego’s LGBTQIA community with a special interest in preventing bullying. He funded an endowed scholarship here at MiraCosta in support of a community of students who, in addition to the typical academic stress felt by college students, experience high rates of mental health issues, homelessness, and substance abuse, and for whom institutional support is not always present or obvious.
